Communications

Our immediate response area is vast. We cover half way to Quesnel to the North, half way to 100 Mile House to the South, and a great distance to both the East and to the West. A small amount of this area has cell phone coverage. This means we rely heavily on radio contact.

Volunteers proficient in radio setup and operations provide communication links from members, to command center, and to dispatch centers. This is accomplished through the unit’s own network of radios and repeaters or through radio links by cooperating agencies. These communications are of the upmost importance, not only for the safety of our members, but also the safety of those who call on us.
