Central Cariboo Search and Rescue is always recruiting for membership.
While many of our members bring a suite of first responding, outdoor, and other relevant skills, these are not necessary to be accepted. CCSAR strongly values members with dedication and strong interpersonal skills who are readily available to support search and rescue as well as day-to-day organization activities.
Requirements for both Land Search and Rescue and Auto Extrication teams:
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Must be in good physical and mental health
- Be willing to attend an interview
- Have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation
- RCMP Criminal Record Check
- Able to commit time and effort into training and call outs
- Be prepared to take or have a valid minimum Occupational First Aid – Level 1/CPR C.
Additional eligibility for Land Search & Rescue:
- To have the proper personal equipment to allow safe operation in the outdoors for a minimum of 24 hours.
Junior Members:
- 16 years of age
- Able to commit the time and effort
- Take on a supporting and learning role
- Approval and support from parent/guardian
